Portable Appliance Testing
The Electricity at Work Act (1989) requires companies to maintain all portable electrical equipment in a safe condition. Anything, which can be disconnected from the supply without the use of a tool, is defined as portable – including everyday items such as computers, fan heaters, kettles, drills and extension leads.
K F Electrical Services can help here, by providing the expertise and equipment necessary to test and check portable appliances.
Our trained technicians check visually and test by means of sophisticated state-of-the-art appliance testers. Bar coding allows the test data to be recorded on computer and the production of reports for the Health and Safety Executive. Our reports confirm the test date and the schedule for re-testing. All appliances are labelled to show they have passed safely or failed.
Serial numbers of appliances are recorded, providing an inventory for accounting purposes and assistance in any insurance claims.
